I love the composition of the shots used throughout this video and also the vintage, sort of washed out colours and the overall mood that the colour effect gives to the whole thing.
Depth of field and focusing is changing throughout this, which makes it really interesting and works really well with the shots used, particularly i think with the ones which have quite strong contrast between the sunlight and the darker areas.
The light, which almost creeps across the shots makes the overall lighting quite soft and so gives the whole video a soft and gentle mood and feel to it, which is only emphasised and helped by the music used.

Another video by Camille Marotte, We.own.the.sky
Again I really like the colours and the focus throughout. In this one you notice the handheld camera work more which I think really adds a lot to it. I also think that the composition of the shots works really well, with close ups of certain areas of the subjects and the surroundings makes it really interesting to watch.

Black and White
This is an image that I took whilst on holiday.
I experimented with the black and white, I like the way in which the footprints in the sand lead the eye up to the much stronger contrast between the sea and the people.
I also like the bit of reflection which you can see on the wet sand behind them. however may have been nicer to have seen more of the reflection.
Cole Thompson - Fine Art Black and White Photography
Found this photographer whilst researching, and these images of a harbour in Hawaii really caught my eye. The black and white is really effective and makes the contrast between the strong, dark lines of the rocks really dramatic against the much softer and lighter tones of the sky and the water.
Your eye is drawn in to the image by the bold lines of the rocks that really stand out from the flat tones of the still water. The intense detail on the rocks that is picked up in the image also adds to the strong contrast between the two areas and again makes it really eye catching.
I really like how this image has the much brighter sky and water towards the centre. it seems to balance the much darker almost overpowering rocks in the foreground which takes up a good half of the image. the rocks also act to draw the eye to the very centre of the image; the much brighter area. The black and white emphasises the strong contrast and the detail in the rocks and makes the images really punchy and eye catching.

Magazine work
Last week I attended a charity fashion event as the photographer for the beacon magazine.
It was in aid of a Zimbabwean charity and was held at Sytner in Leicester.
These are my images from the night in the article from the magazine.

Photography
I did a photo shoot for my sister and her friends. The location I used was the park.
This is probably my favourite image from it, I wanted the images to have a fun and natural feel, which I think this does.
I'm also pleased with the crop of this image as I think it also helps to achieve this.
This is the original image in colour however I think It really benefits from the sepia tone as the quite strong contrast makes the whole image really punchy.
These are some of the other images that I took.
I am pleased with how the low angle has worked for this image, however overall I am not to keen on this as it is not quite in focus, and it would have been better to see all their faces.
This has a much softer, almost washed out feel to it compared to the others, which I like

Byron Quandary - Video
Music Video for Little Scout - We Are Walking Out
I really like the lighting in this video, not only the fading sunlight which creeps through the trees but also, the lighting used during the night scenes towards the end, which looks really effective as they illuminate just the dancer or parts of the dancer. I particular like the part at which the dancer is silhouetted by the light shining behind her, its even more effective the smoke which also gets picked up by the light.
The combination of slow motion and soft focus along with the soft lighting for the most, works really well together and i think combines with the music used and the dancing really well.

Jaro Minne - Video
Found this videographer on Vimeo.
Really like his short films. They each have just a really simple storyline, and use only ambient sounds to portray the mood and feel of the whole film to the viewer, this works really well particularly when with the close up shots which emphasise the expression and feelings of the characters. There is also quite a lot of camera movement which makes the whole thing feel much more natural.
